About Me

I’m Prateek Arora, a Senior Analyst with experience in FinTech, e-Commerce, and third sector industries. I specialise in building cloud apps & tools, data analytics, process automation and solution design in small and large teams.
Throughout my career
I’ve worked with Python, SQL, Power Platform and Big Data to turn raw information into clear, actionable insights. I have years of experience in Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure managing complex environments and monitoring cost and logs. I’ve developed dashboards and reports that guide decision-making, and built data pipelines to automate routine tasks. I've automated existing processes with workflows that improve efficiency using 'not so complicated' Power Automate and Zapier. Alongside technical delivery, I’ve led workshops and wireframing sessions to gather requirements, ensuring that solutions align with both user needs and business priorities.
Currently
I’m a Business Analyst in the charity sector in the UK. I help design and deliver projects that streamline operations, from optimising data-collection processes to implementing new reporting frameworks. Day to day, I collaborate with cross-functional teams in IT, operations, fundraising, marketing, retail to identify pain points and propose practical improvements. I implement those improvements myself in collaboration with technical teams, whether it be a new app, a new reporting tool, process automation, or integrating a new API. I also coach colleagues on self-service analytics, empowering them to explore data independently.
My specialisation
I combine technical tools with proven project-management techniques to translate business questions into practical solutions. I’m adept at requirement engineering and use agile and PRINCE2 principles to keep projects on track. With a strong focus on data analysis and visualisation, I create intuitive reports that highlight trends and drive action. My aim is to bridge the gap between raw data and meaningful insight, enabling decision intelligence and making it easier for teams to understand and act on the information they have.
About Explain My Stack
Explain My Stack is a curated platform where I unpack real-world architectures, tooling decisions, trade-offs, and lessons learned: all sourced from case studies, technical articles, whitepapers, academic research, and industry write-ups. My goal is to provide transparent, practical insights for business leaders, tech teams, and curious learners alike.
I started Explain My Stack in 2022, with the domain registered in 2025. I bring over a decade of experience across cloud-native platforms, Big Data ecosystems, and infrastructure-heavy environments.
I believe the best way to understand modern software and systems is by studying what’s actually in use, not just textbook patterns. Each post is based on real-world implementations from verified, production-grade environments.
